Maersk Oil is where she started, first by writing her Master Thesis in the Exploration Department, later in Development & Operations where she finalised the two-year intense graduate program. After another year in Exploration Sidsel went to Singapore to work for Gaffney, Cline & Associates Pte. Ltd. covering the entire Asia-Pacific region, carrying out independent reserves audits. Then she and the family moved to Norway, where she first worked for the minor independent oil company Noreco for more than three years, then worked through GEOkonsulentene and was hired out to Suncor Energy Norge AS. This is where she currently employed.
Sidsel is leading the competence network for structural geologists in the FORCE cooperation between industry, academia and authorities. As Chairman for the Structural Geology Group she is working with 40 other company representatives towards increasing awareness and knowledge of structural geology on a local and regional scale, in order to improve exploration and production activities on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
The GeoConsulting part of M42 // SVG is offering consultancy services to the upstream oil industry. Exploration is the main field of expertise, especially in the Barents Sea, within regional studies and prospect identification and maturation.
